Lacey Act Label Generator — Instructions

Our label generator creates the wildlife-contents portion of a harmless, non-venomous reptile shipment label. It uses the quantities and names you enter. Your carrier shipping label supplies shipper and consignee addresses; this tool does not purchase postage or arrange a shipment.

Follow the numbered steps in each section. Numbers on screenshots match the steps directly below them. Example values are for learning; replace them with your own information.

1. Enter the first species

Lacey Act Label Generator: Enter the first species. Numbered arrows correspond to the steps below.
Tap or click the screenshot to view it full size.

1. Under Shipment contents, enter the actual Qty for this species.

2. Enter the Common name. Use a clear species name, not an animal nickname or morph alone.

3. Enter the matching Scientific name. Check spelling against your reliable species records.

The illustrated example contains two crested geckos, Correlophus ciliatus. It demonstrates entry only; use the actual contents of your shipment. The tool accepts typed names and does not verify the identification for you.

2. Add the other species in the box

Lacey Act Label Generator: Add the other species in the box. Numbered arrows correspond to the steps below.
Tap or click the screenshot to view it full size.

1. Click + Add species for another species. The label supports up to eight species.

2. Complete the new row’s quantity, common name, and scientific name. This example adds one gargoyle gecko, Rhacodactylus auriculatus.

3. Use the row’s × button to remove an unwanted row. Clear resets the contents; do not use it until you have finished with the current label.

Use one row per species with its total quantity. The species counter counts species rows, not the total number of individual animals. Verify each row against the animals actually being packed.

3. Check the live label

Lacey Act Label Generator: Check the live label. Numbered arrows correspond to the steps below.
Tap or click the screenshot to view it full size.

1. Review Live preview. Compare every quantity and both names with Shipment contents before printing.

The preview is labeled WILDLIFE, LIVE HARMLESS REPTILES, and NON-VENOMOUS. Use this generator only for contents fitting that description. It does not determine shipping eligibility or replace other applicable shipping requirements.

4. Print a 4 × 6 label

Lacey Act Label Generator: Print a 4 × 6 label. Numbered arrows correspond to the steps below.
Tap or click the screenshot to view it full size.

1. Click Print 4 × 6 Label. In the print dialog choose the intended printer or PDF destination, use the 4 × 6 paper size, and print at 100%.

Inspect the print preview for clipped names or rows. Check the first physical print before applying it to a box. Browser and printer menus vary; turn off browser headers and footers if they intrude on the label.

5. Print two copies on US Letter

Lacey Act Label Generator: Print two copies on US Letter. Numbered arrows correspond to the steps below.
Tap or click the screenshot to view it full size.

1. Click Print 2 Copies on US Letter. Choose US Letter paper and 100% scale, then check both copies in preview.

This layout produces two identical 4 × 6 labels: one for the outside and a spare for inside with the spare shipping label. Do not stretch a Letter layout to fill a 4 × 6 page. The hero illustration on this instruction page is decorative; print from the generator’s buttons.

Troubleshooting

A print is clipped

Match paper size to the chosen button, use 100% scale, and inspect headers/footers and printable margins.

The species count differs from animal count

The counter tracks species rows. Quantities within those rows are the numbers of animals.

You need more than eight species

The current tool supports eight per label. Do not omit species to make the box contents fit one label.

You need addresses or postage

Use the carrier’s shipping label and shipment workflow. This generator supplies wildlife contents only.
