Reptile Medication Dosage Calculator

Calculation only. Enter a veterinarian-prescribed dosage and the concentration printed on the medication label. This tool does not recommend medication or treatment.

Verify every unit. Incorrect units can cause a dangerous dose. 1 milligram (mg) = 1,000 micrograms (mcg). If anything is unclear, stop and ask the prescribing veterinarian.

Match the unit on the scale. Ounces (oz) means weight, not fluid ounces.

Enter the prescribed amount per kilogram for one administration. Do not enter a daily total or a liquid volume.

Changing a unit does not convert the number you entered. Recheck the number and unit together.

Medication concentration

Use the amount and volume printed together on the label. For a label stated per multiple milliliters, choose “Per specified volume.” Do not use the bottle’s total volume.

Match the medication label. Milligrams (mg) and micrograms (mcg) measure medication mass; milliliters (mL) measure liquid volume.
